Key Responsibilities:
- Manage infrastructure and computer systems through a centralized console, online, or remote terminal.
- Execute recovery procedures and restart systems as needed.
- Maintain logs of machine performance and production data.
- Support the analysis of technical problems and implement solutions as directed.
- Handle help desk duties for the service center.
- Document equipment issues and initiate service requests.
- Mentor and assist in training less experienced computer operators.
- Ensure adherence to established protocols and procedures.
- Operate input/output devices (e.g., tape drives).
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies.
- Investigate and resolve incidents impacting infrastructure operations.
- Perform infrastructure monitoring and send alerts to relevant support teams.
- Process batch jobs as required.
- Follow directives from management on assigned tasks.
- Shift work is required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience in a data centre or related role. (Candidates with less experience or recent graduates with data centre internship experience are welcome to apply.)
- Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- Less experienced candidates may be considered for Junior Operator positions.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn technical skills for managing computer systems, including monitoring and automation software.
